One for Safety

  • Unlike Synvisc-One, DUROLANE does not include HA derived from an avian source.33,37 DUROLANE is biofermented, reducing the risk of adverse events due to allergens.1,40
  • DUROLANE is safe for repeated courses of therapy.2,33
  • Repeat administration of DUROLANE does not increase the incidence of adverse events.2,33

One for Efficacy

  • DUROLANE is manufactured with unique proprietary technology to increase residence time in the joint.‡26,29
  • In a prospective, randomized study, DUROLANE provided significantly greater pain relief at 3 and 6 months versus Synvisc-One (hylan G-F 20).§4
  • In a separate clinical study, one injection of DUROLANE provided up to 6 months of pain relief, reducing the need for rescue medications.28

  • DUROLANE’s manufacturing process joins the HA molecules together, forming a transparent, viscoelastic gel.33

DUROLANE is a non-animal, stabilized HA that is cross-linked and entangled to create an HA with a long residence time.‡1,26,29

Unlike Synvisc-One, in the Canadian market DUROLANE is indicated for treatment of multiple joints: mild to moderate OA in the knees and hips, as well as mild to moderate OA pain in the ankles, fingers, and toes.33,37 (See the Summary of Indications for Use below.)
